Materials planner

Howmz is looking for a hands-on Materials Coordinator to own the tactical flow of materials across our factory and active job sites. You are the person who makes sure the right parts and supplies are in the right place at the right time — so production lines never stall, and field crews are never waiting on material. This is an execution-focused role at the heart of our operation: you run the day-to-day ordering, replenishment, and staging that keep work moving.

You will own our kanban replenishment system, place and track purchase orders against demand, and confirm production readiness before each build or install. Success looks like predictable material availability, fewer stockouts and expedite scrambles, and crews and lines that are always ready to work.

Ordering & Replenishment

• Place, track, and expedite purchase orders for production materials, consumables, and field supplies based on demand and reorder triggers.
• Maintain accurate reorder points, min/max levels, and lead-time data so material arrives ahead of need without overstocking.
• Coordinate daily with suppliers on order status, delivery dates, shortages, and substitutions; escalate at-risk items before they impact the schedule.

Kanban System

• Own and operate the kanban replenishment system on the factory floor — manage cards/bins, trigger pulls, and keep signals accurate.
• Audit kanban loops regularly, flag where quantities or triggers need tuning, and keep the system disciplined as demand shifts.
• Train and remind floor staff on kanban practices so the system runs reliably without manual chasing.

Production & Site Readiness

• Stage, kit, and verify materials against the build or install schedule so each job has everything it needs before it starts.
• Run pre-production and pre-mobilization material checks; confirm readiness and surface any gaps to the production and field leads early.
• Coordinate material deliveries and transfers between the factory and job sites, ensuring the right quantities land at the right location on time.

Inventory & Receiving

• Receive, inspect, and put away incoming materials; reconcile deliveries against POs and report discrepancies.
• Keep inventory counts accurate through cycle counts and timely transactions in the system of record.
• Maintain organized, labeled, and safe storage in the warehouse and at staging areas.

• 2–5 years in materials handling, inventory, purchasing, warehouse, or production support — ideally in manufacturing, construction, or field-install operations.
• Hands-on experience running a kanban or pull-based replenishment system, or a strong grasp of how one works.
• Comfort placing and tracking purchase orders and working directly with suppliers.
• Working knowledge of an ERP/MRP or inventory system (e.g., entering POs, receiving, cycle counts).
• Strong organization and follow-through — you keep many moving parts straight and close loops without being chased.
• Solid communication; you coordinate smoothly across the floor, the office, suppliers, and field crews.
• Able to work on the factory floor and at job sites — standing, lifting, and moving material as needed.
• Valid driver’s license; forklift certification a plus (or willingness to certify).

• Lean / 5S / continuous-improvement exposure.
• Experience coordinating material logistics to remote or multiple job sites.
• Familiarity with the materials common to our products and installs.

• Fully owning the ordering cycle and kanban loops with no critical stockouts on the line or at site.
• Accurate reorder points and inventory counts, with cycle counts running on a regular cadence.
• A reliable pre-job material readiness check that crews and production leads trust.
